Artist's Description

Phil Vampatella on his return to the Hancock on 22 June 66 following the successful downing of a Mig-17. His aircraft had been hit by AAA while circling a downed Photo Crusader and was heading out to a tanker when the rest of the RESCAP force was jumped by Migs. Phil flew his damaged aircraft back into the fight and tried to stop a Mig from shooting his Flight Lead, Cole Black down, but was unable to do that. He rolled in on the Mig that had downed Black (it turns out it was flown by Nguyen Van Bay) but changed his attack to a closer Mig, when he saw another coming on in his "six". About Peter Chilelli

Peter Chilelli

Art is but one of many passions for me. I believe creativity and imagination requires no formal training and all of us have an artist within. I spent much of my life drawing and painting in traditional ways, but years ago, I found with my computer I could create far more than my skills with a pencil or brush could ever produce. What took me days or weeks by hand, now took hours and allowed me to go places with art I only dreamed of before! I have also added photography to my galleries as another way to create. On my pages you will find everything from aviation and architecture to still life, all featured as fine art. -Peter-
